President of Kenya William Ruto’s visit to South Korea.

During his visit to South Korea, Kenyan President William Ruto secured a significant financial agreement aimed at boosting various development projects in Kenya. The $1 billion deal will fund initiatives in agriculture, ICT, health, energy, infrastructure, education, affordable housing, and urban transport. Key projects include the Nairobi Intelligent Transport System and Bus Rapid Transit network, the Konza Technopolis, and special economic zones in areas such as Dongo Kundu and Naivasha.

South Korea will support Kenya in building a fertiliser manufacturing plant, enhancing agricultural productivity, and developing pharmaceutical manufacturing zones. The two countries also agreed on measures to address food security and drought management in Kenya.

President Ruto’s visit, the first by a Kenyan head of state to South Korea in 32 years, included meetings with South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and other officials, promoting Kenya as a favorable investment destination and exploring further cooperation in technology, education, and cultural exchanges.
