DSTV owners facing severe financial hardship.

MultiChoice, the owner of DStv, is facing severe financial difficulties. The company has reported a substantial loss of R4.1 billion for the year ending March 2024 and is now technically insolvent, with liabilities exceeding its assets. This situation has been exacerbated by a 9% decline in active subscribers and unfavorable foreign exchange rates, leading to a 5% drop in group revenue. Despite these challenges, MultiChoice is focusing on cost reduction and new revenue streams to stabilize its financial situation.
