Posta Kenya has announced a significant increase in rates for Mpost Virtual Boxes.

Posta Kenya has announced a substantial increase in the rates for its MPost virtual addresses. Effective July 5, 2024, the annual subscription rate for corporate virtual addresses has risen from Ksh.400 to Ksh.9,450, representing a 2,200% increase. Individual users will now pay Ksh.2,000 annually, a 400% increase from the previous Ksh.400.

This price hike aims to support the sustainability and growth of the MPost service, which converts mobile numbers into virtual post office addresses, facilitating improved postal and e-commerce logistics across Kenya.

However, the significant rate increase has raised concerns about the service’s affordability and competitiveness, given the availability of more efficient courier alternatives.
