Four Lives Lost After Fire Strike From Toi Market In Kibra.

A devastating fire broke out at Toi Market in Nairobi’s Kibera area early on August 3, 2024. The blaze, which started around 4 am, is suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault. Unfortunately, four people lost their lives in the incident while trying to rescue their belongings. The fire destroyed all business structures, leading to significant losses for traders.

This incident follows a pattern of frequent fires at Toi Market, with previous significant fires occurring in 2023, 2021, and 2019. The recurrent nature of these fires has led to suspicions of arson, and detectives have begun investigations to determine the exact cause. Some traders believe that a land dispute may have motivated the arson.
