The genre often features rapid, repetitive beats created with electronic instruments like synthesizers and drum machines, accompanied by energetic and sometimes humorous lyrics, typically in Swahili or other local languages.Singeli music has become increasingly popular in East Africa, especially among youth, due to its energetic style and the relatability of its often socially conscious lyrics. Artists like Sisso, Bampa Pana, and MCZO are notable for their contributions to the genre, and it has begun to gain some international recognition as well.
