Israeli strikes in western Syria near the border with Lebanon

Israeli airstrikes have recently targeted areas near the Lebanon-Syria border. The strikes are believed to have targeted key routes used for transporting weapons, particularly in areas utilized by Hezbollah and other Iranian-backed groups. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has intensified these operations amidst heightened regional tensions, particularly following the October 7 Hamas attacks on Israel. Syrian state media confirmed casualties, with several Syrian soldiers reported killed in the strikes. These strikes underscore Israel’s efforts to cut off supply lines used by Hezbollah across the Lebanon-Syria border, with the Masnaa border crossing also being hit recently, impacting thousands fleeing bombardments. The situation remains volatile as Israel continues its military operations in the region.
