MOROCCO TO DOUBLE GREEN ENERGY OUTPUT IN WESTERN SAHARA AHEAD OF 2030 FIFA WORLD CUP.

Morocco plans to expand it’s green energy capacity in western sahara ahead of 2030 FIFA world cup, which the country will co-host with spain and Portugal.

By 2027, Morocco aims to add 1.4 gigawatts of wind and solar energy in the region, nearly doubling the current 1.3 gigawatts. This project valued at $2.1 billion will be funded by local and international investors.

3 gigawatts power cable will connect western sahara renewable plants to Central Morocco, further boosting energy supply across the nation.
