According to the Global Innovation Index 2024, Morocco has emerged as the leading innovative economy in Africa, securing the 66th position globally. This recognition highlights the country’s commitment to fostering creativity, technology, and economic advancement.
South Africa and Tunisia followed in the rankings, coming in at 69th and 81st globally, respectively, underscoring their strides in innovation. Egypt (86th) and Botswana (87th) rounded off the top five on the continent, demonstrating their growing focus on research and development.
Kenya, ranked 96th globally and 7th in Africa, continues to maintain its presence as a hub for technological advancements and entrepreneurship in the region. Ghana, Namibia, and Rwanda also secured spots in the top 10, showcasing the diversity of innovation efforts across the continent.
