A plus for Kenya: President Ruto’s Gain from His US State Visit

In May 2024, Kenyan President William Ruto signed several key agreements with the United States during his visit to Washington, D.C. One of the primary outcomes was the reaffirmation of the strategic partnership between the two countries, focusing on economic cooperation, peace and security, and democratic values. This visit marked the 60th anniversary of US-Kenya diplomatic relations.

The agreements included commitments to boost trade and investment, particularly in green energy, digital technology, and innovation. Ruto’s visit also advanced discussions on climate action and human development.
