At least 70 people have been killed in a brutal gang attack by members of the “Gran Grif” gang in the town of Pont-Sonde, near Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The attackers, armed with automatic rifles, also set homes and vehicles on fire, forcing over 6,000 residents to flee. The massacre included women and children, with reports suggesting some victims were shot execution-style. The gang claimed responsibility, blaming the community’s silence on previous vigilante attacks against them. Haiti’s government has since deployed anti-gang police to contain the violence.
