Eight top Ugandan officials have been barred from entering the United States over allegations of corruption.

These individuals include high-ranking members of the Ugandan government and parliament. Among those affected are:

1.Anita Among – Speaker of the Ugandan Parliament. She has been accused of embezzling significant public funds and diverting them to private accounts.

2. Mary Goretti Kitutu – Minister responsible for the Karamoja region. She has been charged with stealing roofing sheets meant for low-cost housing in one of Uganda’s poorest areas.

The exact identities of the remaining six officials have not been explicitly detailed, but the list typically includes other influential figures involved in major corruption scandals and those undermining democratic processes in Uganda. These sanctions are part of broader measures by the U.S. to address and penalize corruption and human rights abuses globally.
