For the 2024/2025 financial year, the East African Community (EAC) has set its budget at approximately $104 million. This represents a slight increase from the $103.84 million allocated for the 2023/2024 financial year. The budget is structured to enhance regional integration, support infrastructure development, and bolster economic growth amid global economic challenges.
The EAC plans to fund this budget through contributions from its member states and development partners. About 57% of the budget will come from the member states, while the remaining 43% will be sourced from development partners.
Key areas of focus include infrastructure projects aimed at improving intra-EAC trade, investments in social development such as education and healthcare, and measures to address climate change and sustainability.
